New Canaan Library

Commissioning Client: E2 Engineers

Architect: Centerbrook Architects & Planners

Construction: Turner Construction

This architectural exterior photoshoot was for the structural engineering company who consulted on this project. One of the features they wanted to highlight were the tall, floor to ceiling windows on the western corner of the front facade. A lot of post-production editing went into the clearing many distractions such as powerlines, street signs and corresponding shadows from those objects that were casting onto the building. One very specific edit that I’m glad I caught during the shoot, was that there was a street sign that sat right in front of the “New Canaan Library” sign along the front of the building. I knew I would be unable to create the proper 3D lettering of the metallic structure, so I took a separate photo of the sign from the sidewalk in front of it, and skewed it into place for the final shot.
